Have you ever wanted to learn needle felting? Come learn how with this beginner workshop and come away with an adorable needle felted mushroom to add to your  decor!

Basic principles and techniques for weaving on a frame loom

 Tapestries can be so much more than an image. With creative techniques, weavers can make a menagerie of textures through various yarn textures and weaving techniques. This class will learn the Rya knot, soumak, simple lace weaves, basket weave, and more. Using various techniques, this class will have you absolutely hooked on weaving! 


 What will students learn Basic principles and techniques for weaving on a frame loom using specific stitches for an abstract woven tapestry. What experience level Beginner What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop? An conceptual understanding of basic weaving (Over 1, Under 1) 


 Minimum age requirement for workshop 15

List of materials students should bring A Schacht School Loom, or a comparable frame loom; scissors, paper and pencil.

Collage Nuno Felt Scarf

Collage Nuno Felt Scarf: Learn to play with multiple felting techniques to create a one-of-a-kind wearable art statement piece. Choose colors of your choice from a large variety of kits. 


How to wet felt an art scarf, including using recycled fabrics, pre-felt, and wool.


Wet felting requires standing for long periods of time and some upper body strength to roll the felt. 


Minimum age: 12


Workshop & Materials Fee $90


 bubble wrap 12"x 90"; a piece of pool noodle at least 14" long; sharp, full-sized scissors; at least two towels, a wetting mechanism (sprayer or ball brause & small bucket); plastic bag to take home wet items

Felted Basket

 Learn to create a beautiful, felted basket from a flat round pattern. Participants will choose colors (from a wide selection of available material kits); learn wool layout techniques and shaping methods to create a perfectly round basket or bowl. This is a four hour class. 


  ***Students must be able to stand for long period of time and have some upper body strength to manipulate wool into felt. ****  


**Minimum age requirement for workshop:  13

 YOU WILL NEED: bubble wrap, a piece of pool noodle, a watering mechanism, two old towels, sharp full-sized scissors, optional apron

Dyeing techniques

  Have you ever wanted to dye your own yarn? Clothes? Fabric?? Join me where I will show you basic ice dyeing techniques to be used on all your plant based fibers!! 


Supply fee will be lower for those willing to provide their own item to dye. Items must be at least 60% or more plant based (cotton, linen, rayon, bamboo, modal, canvas, etc) that has been scoured (washed in hot water and detergent). Recommended items for this class are: a T-shirt, a skein (or 2) of yarn (NOT WOOL), 1/2-1 yard of light colored fabric, a small baby blanket, 3-4 pairs socks, tea towels, etc… anything that will fit in the container you bring!! 


Minimum age for workshop: 12

$85  specify which one and I provide it.  You can bring your own item if you like.


List of materials students should bring Please bring your item in a lidded plastic container that allows 2-3 inches room above your item. Label clearly in sharpie with your first and last name.

Fiber Prep to Spinning

Many of the women who came before us knew how to take wool and turn it into clothing.  Join us as we dive into the world of spinning wool into yarn.

You will learn how to:

*Pick and card wool

*Spin on a drop spindle 


Participants will receive a drop spindle and wool to use & keep.


Minimum age for workshop: 12

Basic Embroidery

Students will learn basic embroidery stitches to create an embroidered flower. Kits will include embroidery threads, fabric with design pre-drawn, and needles.

Basic embroidery stitches including satin stitch, French knots, and others. 

Just need to know how to thread a needle and tie a knot.

Minimum Age  is 12

Converting a Rigid Heddle to 3 & 4 shaft

Taking the mystery out of reading a weaving draft and learn how to adapt multi-shaft patterns to the rigid heddle loom. 


During the class, we will discuss the different parts of a weaving draft.  Learn how we can utilize multiple heddles, pick up sticks, or heddle rods to weave a multi shaft pattern.  We will also look at on line resources and how weaving software can unlock your creativity.  


Utilizing heddle rods you will get hands on experience weaving variations of 3/1 and 2/2 twill.


How to warp their loom and how to do basic Tabby weave.

homework:2 Finger weight yarn in high contrast color.  (White/Red, White/Black) 


Rigid Heddle loom with 7.5 dent reed

Stick shuttle


Warp 2 yards onto your loom.  

Double ends in the slots only.  Total of 74 ends

Notebook, pen, scissors, warped loom, stick shuttle, contrasting yarn for the weft


Minimum Age  is 16

What will students learn

Students will learn how to wire weave a rope chain. The only knowledge necessary is the use of pliers. No homework necessary. This technique is easy to learn for all skill levels.
